The volunteer programme of the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest was established in 2006, following traditions of other famous museums of the world. After the merge of the two institutions, the Hungarian National Gallery started to build its own volunteer programme on the same basis and in similar fields as the MFAB.
At present, the programme has more than 200 members, who help the museum staff with providing visitors different services. Volunteers help at the information desks, with museum education programmes, in the library, at the “Hands on!” desk, in promoting the “Friends programme”, and in the backstage (administration and office work).
To apply for volunteer, you need to speak Hungarian at least on medium level.
